1 DICE to BTC (1 Etheroll to Bitcoin) Exchange Calculator

Betting Odds bitcoin dice risk calculator release

Betting Odds, the world's first risk calculator for Bitcoin Dice games, is released for Android OS. Now available at the Google Play Store here (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.maksuta.bettingodds)
The risk calculator displays your odds of losing streaks in successive rolls. This allows the player to win because the odds of winning a losing streak becomes less than the odds of losing any single roll. By doubling+ your bet on loss, the odds of winning a streak become higher than the single bet and you will have a net gain at the end of the streak.
You input your balance, the minimum bet, the payout(risk percent i.e. X2) and the percent increase on loss and it displays the risk for the next 25 rolls.
This is a valuable tool for any player of Bitcoin Dice games, and will help you win big.

Bitcoin Fullnode Install Guide for Dummies ;-)

Bitcoin Fullnode Install Guide for Dummies ;-)
Feel free to stop at Level 0 or Level 1, which is fine. More advanced configs are offered to those with more tech savvy. This guide, obviously assumes a Windows 10 install, but other OSes work fine, just find a different guide. BTW, the "For Dummies" is a callback to a set of "tech" books in the 90's intended to be as easy as possible. It is in jest and not intended to insult the reader. Finally, if you dislike the formatting, a well formatted copy can be found here
There is a fairly small subset of Bitcoin users that run a full node. I think the idea of running a full node has gotten a bad rap over the years since there is so much talk about running on a Raspberry Pi, or getting zippy SSDs. Although all of this can be fun, it is often not really required at all. Here are some ways to run a full node starting with the very simple. I'll get into more complex configs, but these are all optional.

Tech Skill Level: 0 (the basics)

  1. Download Bitcoin Core
  2. Launch the downloaded installer and install the app
  3. Launch the installed "Bitcoin Core" app and let it run overnight
In many cases, thats it. If your running a new machine with a fairly good internet connection, 8 or 9 hours will be enough to complete the "Initial Block Download" (IBD). This may fill up your drive a bit, but again, on most new machines, 300 GB of space isn't that hard to come by.

Tech Skill Level: 1 (encrypted wallet)

One thing we left out in the level-0 exercise is encrypting your wallet. It's easy enough to do well, but a bit more difficult to do right. The main challenge is that humans generate really poor passwords. If you want a good password, the best way is to use something called "diceware". Basically, you just grab 4 or 5 dice and each throw of the dice represents a certain word on a special list. The throw {1,4,5,3,1} for example would be the word camping on the EFF-diceware-wordlist. So you repeat this a few times until you have a list of 8 or so words which becomes the passphrase you use to encrypt your wallet. Write it down, it is always hard to remember at first. So at level-1 your list becomes:
  1. Download Bitcoin Core
  2. Launch the downloaded installer and install the app
  3. Launch the installed "Bitcoin Core" app and let it run overnight
  4. Choose Encrypt Wallet from the Settings menu
  5. Enter your 8 word (or so) passphrase generated using the Diceware method

Wallet Encryption Dialog

Tech Skill Level: 2 (enable pruning if needed)

Though I said "300 GB of space isn't hard to come by", some times it actually is. If space is an issue, a simple way to fix it is to tell bitcoin to simple take less space. This is called "pruning" and can take that number from 300 GB down to below 5 GB. If you can't find 5 GB, then you'll have to read ahead to level-4 to add USB storage. But the good news is, enabling pruning is pretty easy, we just add another step to our working list:
  1. Download Bitcoin Core
  2. Launch the downloaded installer and install the app
  3. Launch the installed "Bitcoin Core" app and let it run overnight
  4. Do the wallet encryption steps here if you wish
  5. Choose Options from the Settings menu
  6. Choose Prune block storage to: and select the max size for the blocks to use
  7. Exit and restart the bitcoin application for the changes to take effect

Pruning Dialog
Note, even setting this to 1 GB will still leave you with about a 4.5 GB install. The blocks take up a lot of space, but the chainstate and other folders eat up at least 3.5 GB and they can't be pruned. Also, be aware, to disable pruning requires you to perform the entire IBD again. While pruned some other functions my be disabled as well, so just know that pruning does limit some functionality.

Tech Skill Level: 3 (verify the installer)

Although this is arguably something that should be done at level-0, some find the intricacies of comparing hash (thumbprint) values to be tedious and beyond the scope of a beginner. You will find these types of hash compares suggested quite often as a way to prevent running tainted programs. Programs are often tainted by bad disk or network performance, but most often, taint is malicious code inserted by viruses or malware. This is a way to guard yourself against those types of attacks.
What I cover here is a very basic comparison on the certificate, but a more thorough verification advised by mosts uses a program called Gpg4Win, and is beyond the scope of this beginners guide. But regardless, most users should strive to do this minimum level of validation.
  1. Download Bitcoin Core
  2. Launch the downloaded installer
  3. When prompted "Do you want to allow..." click Show more details
  4. In the details section select Show information about the publisher's certificate
  5. In the certificate window select the Details tab
  6. In the Details tab Subject should start with "CN = Bitcoin Core Code Signing Association"
  7. Ensure Thumbprint in Details reads ea27d3cefb3eb715ed214176a5d027e01ba1ee86
  8. If the checks pass, click OK to exit the certificate window and Yes to allow the installer to run.
  9. Launch the installed "Bitcoin Core" app and let it run overnight
  10. Do the wallet encryption steps here if you wish
  11. Do the optional pruning steps here if you wish

Certification Validation Windows
Note: The certificate used to sign the current Bitcoin installer is only valid from March 2020 to March 2021. After that point the thumbprint on the certificate will change. This is by design and intentional. If your reading this post after March 2021, then it is understood that the thumbprint has changed.

Tech Skill Level: 4 (use secondary storage)

We glossed over the "new machine with fairly good internet" part. Truth be known many people do not have fairly new machines, and find the IBD to take longer than the "over night" best wishes. For most people the slowdown is the disk access when calculating what is called chainstate. This requires fast random reads and writes to the disk. If you have an SSD disk, this will be no problem, but if you have a non-SSD "spinning" disk, random writes are always slow. Though an SSD will speed things up, they are pricey, so a nice middle ground may be a simple high-end USB key drive. You can get some with 10 to 15 MB/s random writes for $20 on Amazon. This is usually a order of magnitude faster than a "spinning" disk. And with pruning (see level-2), a small USB drive should be fine.
Once you decide on a drive, the tricky part will be to enable external storage. It requires editing a configuration file and adding a line. First, we want to create a directory on the key drive. You will need to determine the drive letter of your USB key drive. For the sake of this example, we will assume it is D:, but you must determine this yourself and correct the example. Once you know the drive letter, create a blank folder on the drive called Bitcoin. So for this example, creating Bitcoin on drive D: will create the path D:\Bitcoin. Once done, assuming that D: is your drive, here are the new steps including the edit of the configuration file:
  1. Download Bitcoin Core
  2. Launch the installer, verify it, then run it
  3. Launch the installed "Bitcoin Core" app and let it run overnight
  4. Do the wallet encryption steps here if you wish
  5. Do the optional pruning steps here if you wish
  6. Launch "Notepad" by typing "Notepad.exe" in the windows search bar then click Open
  7. Type the line datadir=D:\Bitcoin (depending on your drive letter) in the blank file
  8. Choose Save from the File menu in notepad
  9. Type %APPDATA%\Bitcoin\bitcoin.conf (note the percent signs) in the File name box
  10. Select All Files from the Save as type dropdown
  11. Click the Save button and overwrite the file if prompted
  12. Exit and restart the bitcoin application for the changes to take effect

Save As Dialog
Now that you've reached this level of technical expertise, there are many new configuration options that you can begin to modify if you wish. Most configuration data is contained in the bitcoin.conf file and learning how to maintain it is a key step for a node operator.

Tech Skill Level: 5 (all other customizations)

Here's a short list of various things you can ADD to your bitcoin.conf file. You generally just add a new line for each configuration settings.
  • addresstype=bech32
  • changetype=bech32
The addresstype / changetype allows your wallet to use the native-segwit (bech32) format. This is the most efficient and inexpensive way to spend bitcoin, and is a recommended configuration. The default uses something called p2sh-segwit which is more compatible with older wallets, but more expensive to spend.
  • minrelaytxfee=0.00000011
Changing the minrelaytxfee setting allows you to help propagate lower fee transactions. It will require more memory but TXN memory is capped at 300 MB by default anyways, so if you have enough memory, it is a good setting to choose.
  • dbcache=2048
The dbcache setting controls how many MB of memory the program will use for the chainstate database. Since this is a key bottleneck in the IBD, setting this value high (2048 MB) will greatly speed up the IBD, assuming you have the memory to spare
  • blocksdir=C:\Bitcoin
  • datadir=D:\Bitcoin
In level-4 we discussed moving the datadir to a fast external storage, but the majority of the space used for bitcoin is the blocks directory (blocksdir). Although you should always use for fastest storage for datadir, you are free to use slow storage for blocksdir. So if you only want to consume a small amount of your SSD (assumed D:) then you can keep your blocks on your slow "spinning" drive.
  • upnp=1
One of the harder challenges you may face running a node, is to get incoming connections. If you are lucky, you may find that your firewall and network HW support the uPnP protocol. If they do, this setting will allow bitcoin to configure uPnP to allow incoming connections to your node. Other methods exist to make your node reachable, but they are well beyond the scope of this guide.

HowTo: Create and Spend a Electrum Segwit 3of3 Multisig wallet with Trezors

I wrote a simlar post in Bitcoin about creating a MS wallet without a Trezor, this guide will focus on creating a 3of3 MS wallet with three Trezor's. Hopefully it should be obvious how to extend this to N-of-M for any value of N or M. You can also use this as a blueprint to do MS with non-HW Electrum wallets like Android.
It should be noted that this is the most general case method for setting this up. This allows to replace non-HW Electrum wallets into this procedure where HW-wallets are referenced. For the far simpler method, just pick Cosign with hardware device instead of Cosign with key as I outline here. If you choose Cosign with HW you can do the entire process in one wallet file in one session.
The main advantage of multisig is that it reduces the risk of one compromised seed exposing all your funds. Although this is exceedingly complicated, the added layer of complications make it all the more difficult to compromise your funds. Most of the complexity is on the initial wallet setup. Sending is only a bit more complicated, and Receiving is the same as it would be for any electrum wallet.
We will be creating three wallets here, and each will use a Trezor with its own seed, passphrase, and public key (Zpub). If your just wanting to play with this process you could use one Trezor with three different passphrases. Electrum will treat this like three different wallets, since... well since it is. The Zpubs will be calculated by Electrum.
For all references to wallet passphrases or encryption passwords, I highly recommend you generate six-word passphrases. Three simple ways to construct a six-word passphrase would be to either use EFF diceware long wordlist to roll for 6 words, or create a short six-word BIP39 seed and use that as a passphrase, or create a random Electrum seed and use the last 6 words. You will need to take care that all six-word passphrases are equal or less than 50 characters. Longer passphrases can produce some unexpected results. Whenever you need to create a passphrase or password from here on out, create a six-word string as described above.
Assuming your have your Trezors initialized with passphrases enabled, our first order of business will be ensuring the authenticity of Electrum. For the PC's this must be done with PGP/GPG following the procedure spelled out on the Electrum website, or the secondary docs. It is absolutely critical that you are certain your using the correct ThomasV key. As of the time of this writing, the "correct" ThomasV key was:
ThomasV PGP: 6694 D8DE 7BE8 EE56 31BE D950 2BD5 824B 7F94 70E6
Once your Electrum install is validated, here is excruciating detail on creating and spending from a 3of3 multisig wallet. This assumes you have passphrases enabled on all your Trezors and that each has a unique name. For simplicity I will simply refer to their names at "trez-1", "trez-2", and "trez-3"

Three Wallet Creation passes

Do the following first for "trez-1", then for "trez-2" and finally for "trez-3". The order is VERY important:
  1. Wallet->New, name your wallet
  2. Then insert your Trezor ("trez-1", "trez-2", or "trez-3")
  3. Choose Multisig Wallet, then 3of3
  4. Choose Use a hardware device
  5. Select device
  6. Craft (and record) a new 6 word passphrase
  7. Choose Native Segwit derivation
  8. Record Zpub
  9. Unplug your Trezor ("trez-1", "trez-2", or "trez-3")
  10. Choose Add Cosigner Key
  11. Wait at "Add Cosigner 2" dialog

Distribute Zpubs to Finish Wallet Creation

When completing the setup for each wallet below you will be prompted for a wallet encryption password. I recommend you craft a unique six-word string as described above. If Electrum asks to reconnect to your HW wallet simply say "No". You will notice that the order is the reverse of the previous portion. As before, the order is VERY important,.
  1. Swap over to your trez-3 wallet
  2. Click "Enter Cosigner Key"
  3. Enter trez-1 Zpub
  4. Click "Enter Cosigner Key"
  5. Enter trez-2 Zpub
  6. Swap over to your trez-2 wallet
  7. Click "Enter Cosigner Key"
  8. Enter trez-3 Zpub
  9. Click "Enter Cosigner Key"
  10. Enter trez-1 Zpub
  11. Swap over to your trez-1 wallet
  12. Click "Enter Cosigner Key"
  13. Enter trez-2 Zpub
  14. Click "Enter Cosigner Key"
  15. Enter trez-3 Zpub
You can now close each wallet file.
You should now have recorded:
Keep the 12 secrets secure, separate and safe.

Receive funds into your 3of3 MS wallet

Receive just like any other wallet. All three wallets will watch the same set of addresses

Spend funds from your 3of3 MS wallet

  1. Create a TXN as you normally would on your first device
  2. In the TXN dialog hit "Preview" instead of Send
  3. In the Preview screen hit "Sign", then "Export"
  4. Copy the TXN over to your second device
  5. On your second device click Tools->Load Transaction
  6. Enter your partially signed TXN
  7. Verify the Status reads "Partially signed (1/3)"
  8. In the Preview screen hit "Sign", then "Export"
  9. Copy the TXN over to your third device
  10. On your third device click Tools->Load Transaction
  11. Enter your partially signed TXN
  12. Verify the Status reads "Partially signed (2/3)"
  13. In the Preview screen hit "Sign", then "Broadcast"

Conclusion

Certainly more complicated than a non MS wallet, but a lot more secure. Also be aware that the Segwit MS TXNs are about 40% larger than the native Segwit TXNs, so this does generate some additional cost in TXN fees.

That is to say that this list contains words that this list contains words that:

D100 Ways to Mess With "I wish for all the gold in the world!"

  1. It rains down on the character and kills them
  2. Infinite gold is just a single gold piece that constantly reappears in your pocket after being spent
  3. That's the gold from the town treasury used to pay it's workers, now there's rioting in the streets
  4. Can't be arsed to go through all the comments but all the gold could teleport back into the interior of the world - to the mines it originated in or just like dispersed through the mantle again?
  5. All of the gold in the world is condensed into one single coin that flotas in front of the wishmaker for a few seconds. When he goes to grab it, it stops floating and the combined mass of all the gold in the world is to heavy for any mortal to hold. It tears through his hand and throws him to the ground, leaving a 20 meter wide crater where the coin landed. Nothing can pick up the coin, but that just means that no one can steal it from the wish maker.
  6. Everyone in the world gains the belief that gold is your personal property and feels weird about possessing it. It's like an old roommate's CDs, or an ex boyfriend's hoodie. They'll put the same amount of effort into returning it to you, but only when it's convenient. You can't really spend it anywhere either, unless they have an unhealthy desire for your possessions.
  7. "ok it's all yours, go get it". (no gold moves)
  8. Trade continues with coins made of other metals, and gold is a weird fringe metal that nobody will honor
  9. All your gear is now gilded, and all other gold coins lose their color. Nobody other than you remembers the old color of gold
  10. The uncaring diety that granted your wish also brought all the dragons that guarded hoards of gold
  11. All the gold from underground bursts from the earth in front of you, with no convenient way to move it.
  12. All the gold in the rest of the world disappears. Widespread chaos and confusion reigns. Literally all the gold in the world is carried in his pack. No gold in temple decorations.. magical items with gold no longer work.. etc.
  13. The world is not defined as this world. You got all the gold in the only diamond world, so, none.
  14. "All the gold in the world" was a poem written by a bad bard. You get a worthless piece of paper with a lackluster poem.
  15. "All the Gold" is almost dead nag of a riding horse and was in the world. The rapid trip to get to you kills it.
  16. You are encumbered by the gold in your possession and can not empty your inventory fast enough to escape encumbrance in the middle of nowhere. (Hope a town eventually forms around you fast.)
  17. You get what you wish and everyone and everything else knows it, but, you do not immediately know. (good luck with all the thieves, assassins, nobles, bandits, demons, etc. gunning for you and your gold.)
  18. Every creature that falls under "fae" or similar are forced to deliver the gold to you. Everyone from a common fairy to fae deities come one after the other, each with only one gold piece until you have all the gold in the world. They're concious of their actions but can't move freely until the deed is done. Who knows what they'd do to you once they regain control of their bodies
  19. You get the gold... but its somewhere. Good luck finding it.
  20. All the gold in the world, except for what’s on your person, vanishes in an instant.
  21. All gold within 60’ of the wish maker flies to them as metal to a powerful magnet and sticks to them. They can only remove gold from their body that they are giving/donating to a person, cause, church, or kingdom/city-state, empire etc. (the person must be a stranger or passing acquaintance, no more than that, or they are using as payment for goods or services or repaying a financial debt. STR checks for movement and CON checks to remain standing will eventually be needed.
  22. Gold-rust monster.
  23. They get all the gold in the world in a spendable and secure manner. But some of that gold is cursed by various wizards and magical entities in various ways for various reasons. The owner of it now bears at least a dozen unrelated curses, maybe more.
  24. You get all the gold but now no one has any so it holds no value. We move back into a barter system until a new form of currency can be established.
  25. They get midas' touch and everything they touch turns into gold but if they touch a creature the creatures gains +5 ac and can still attack and move normally
  26. The character becomes coated in gold, lowering mobility but greatly increasing defense
  27. All gold not owned by them turns into silver.
  28. They get their gold, only to find that the primary currency is now platinum. Gold is now only used as a component some spells, or for the properties of the material itself.
  29. All the gold in the world disappears. There is no gold, so you have all that there is.
  30. The gold stays where it is but technically IS their property. Good luck convincing everyone else that...
  31. All of the gold in the world immediately teleports to their location, killing the PC immediately via crushing and flattening entire cities at once beneath thousands of tons of gold ore, coins, and dust
  32. Ok, you now own all the gold in the world. However, it is still located exactly where it was before. You own it but it hasn't moved. Go get it if you want. And try convince the current possessor of it that you are the owner.
  33. All the gold comes with all the dragons...
  34. .. they cant physically shift the huge mountain of gold and people come from far and wide to take a wheelbarrow full of gold that is too large to be protected by the party..
  35. Theres no gold anywhere else so everyone reverts to spending lead coins instead. Gold decreases in value substantially. ...
  36. All the gold in the world technically belongs to the player but it's still wherever it was before he/she owned it. It now depicts the players head on every coin and people everywhere say things like "hey I know you you're from money!" Etc
  37. It’s in bitcoin, what’s bitcoin? Just wait a couple thousand years.
  38. Because wishes are directed to the gods themselves, and they see the entire universe as their "world" the gold from all around the universe is summoned to the PC's or NPC's location, the sheer amount of gold is so large that the entire planet is destroyed, along with any moons it might have, if the dm decides that the universe the campaign is in is very very very VERY rich in gold, he might aswell say that because so much gold was teleported to a specific location, it collapsed upon itself and formed a black hole.
  39. Your players hear a loud, familiar sound of earth moving as if an earth elemental started traveling beneath them. Your player hears something rustle in the grass, PC looks down and there, under a dead leaf, lies a single spec of gold ore. Pulled from the earth they stand on the gold ore inside the earth always moves up towards the player. If they stay in one spot for longer than a week it begins to pile.
  40. It is in one enormous coin, and nobody can make change. You try to break it into smaller pieces, but are stopped by the authorities because it has the emperor's face on it.
  41. Everyone else will see the color gold as a muted grey.
  42. You now possess all the gold in the world, but now everyone wants to kill you for it
  43. The wisher get the world's supply of fool's gold (pyrite). Hope they enjoy the irony.
  44. Every sentient creature is "informed" that you are now the owner of all the gold in the world. No gold actually moves anywhere and it is up to you to enforce your righteous claim.
  45. The color "gold" is suddenly drained from all things which become more brown or yellow. Now only you can bestow this color onto objects and creatures.
  46. You get your wish, but no one has any gold left so the economy crashes.
  47. All the gold in the world includes the gold guarded by every dragon. Bringing the gold to you also brings you its previous owner or notifies them of your act.
  48. This could also be applied to innumerable other monsters as well.
  49. At first, the gold rivers streaming through the air above the wisher's location is amazing. Verucai Saltberry can eat her heart out. Then, as the rivers make landfall, a nervous quiet overcomes all those who witness the spectacle.
  50. All the gold in the world now rains down upon their location.
  51. After half of one hour, 2d12 * 10 acres are covered in anything made of gold. Coins. Ore. Candelabras. You name it. I don't think there are enough dice to calculate the weight...
  52. Hot molten gold floods in your direction
  53. The world decides that gold is now useless since no one has it. They switch to using electrum.
  54. You get it. Exactly as you intended, all the gold coins in the world. But, every dragon, king, crime boss, even members of your own party just had all their gold stolen from them, and they aren't happy about it.
  55. The color gold dissapears from everything in the world unless it is owned by the wisher. Gold is suddenly indistinguishable from silver except by alchemists and smiths and dragons. As a trade currency it becomes almost worthless. The economy plunges into turmoil and as the value of gold plummets so do dragons interest in it. The land devolves into chaos as they suddenly struggle to work out wealth. Gems and iron both skyrocket in value. Dragons, furious at their essentially worthless hordes that they’ve amassed over the years rage across the land. Gold dragons go black. They’ve lost their color. There is a sudden increase in black dragons. Chaos takes hold and the black dragons start taking over the land.
  56. All the gold in the world disappears leaving only what they have on their person
  57. The dragons of the world soon realize where their horde has been taken. They all have you in their sight.
  58. It’s in one solid brick that’s practically worthless for the size
  59. You find yourself atop a mountain of all of the world's gold. Every greedy dragon in the world will soon be converging on your location to fight for this prize, with you in the middle. This being all the gold, that pile includes the scales from every gold dragon in the world, which you've just forcibly torn apart with your wish. Even the good-aligned dragons now see you as a genocidal monster that must be destroyed for the safety of their own kind. Your death is suddenly the singular goal that unites almost every dragon in the world. Also, all Electrum becomes a sort of brittle silver. That will please our DM, who hates having to include electrum coins in currency conversions.
  60. "Granted" and it seems as if nothing happens. Then, after a moment passes, there is a slight thump nearby. And then something light hits the player, rattling off of him, looking down he sees a small, wonderful necklace with a lithe, golden chain attached to it.And then a coin lands next to it.And then another. And another. The sound of falling gold escalates, turning into a storming, crashing chaos as all gold in the entire world falls from the sky in a roaring hail of death. And then all is silent, coins, jewelry, ore, newly refined gold and everything else stands as a small mountain where once there was a campsite and a forest, all of the players are dead or dying underneath that silent, golden hill.
  61. The planet's core loses all of its gold, which, in a supercritical molten state, appears floating as a series of masses overhead. This explodes and showers the area in forcefully-flung chunks of gold. Good job.
  62. The gods of wealth and trade are suddenly obliterated, and you are filled with divine power contained only by your mortal vessel, which wrecks havok on the divine realms and the mortal world. You probably don't survive. Good job.
  63. The gold is helpfully contained for you, and only consists of gold coins! ...Unfortunately, they appear in every single container or vessel you own or touch, forever, making it impossible to eat or drink except off the ground and makes clothing, home ownership, or trade tricky. Good job.
  64. They now own the license to obscure Half-Orc Bard Elzic Pagavian's folk album "All the gold in the world". Elzic is, however, an extremely competent adventurer and will not stand for having his art stolen out from under him.
  65. The power behind the wish misunderstands the intent and makes the wisher the only person to have a thing of that color.
  66. They get all the gold in the world, being the only one to posses gold, it becomes useless and the world's currency standards change.
  67. They didn't specify which world, molten gold pours in from a fire world
  68. Granted, since they specified “in the world” they now have a mountain sized pile of unrefined and impure Gold Ore, this pisses off all the Dwarvern clans as each ones mining operation is funded mostly by processing and selling Gold and similar materials. You and the party are now enemies of every dwarf Clan and their allies.
  69. I started an entire campaign with a similar premise involving a lamp, an efreet, and a Wish. I had a kingdom's worth of gold appear in a magical bag (like a bag of holding), but it was a solid cube that couldn't be pulled through the tiny opening of its container. Made for a lot of memorable scheming on the part of the players!
  70. They get all the gold in the world, the economy is no longer based on gold as there is none in circulation, brass coins replace gold coins
  71. You immediately stand upon a mountain of all the gold in the world. Seeing as you are the only one who has any, Silver becomes the dominant currency, making gold worthless. In addition, you piss off several dragons with hoards. At the same time, most kingdoms fall into financial ruin as they desperately attempt to find a new currency. While all this is happening, sinkholes begin to appear around the world as huge underground deposits of gold have vanished, allowing the ground to give way.
  72. All the gold not owned by the players is suddenly converted into silver. Currency now takes up 10x the amount of space which means any storage suddenly becomes limited.
  73. For the wealthy lords, it’s a nuisance that their pockets are suddenly weighed down or overflowing. For the banks that have just exploded... it’s a different matter.
  74. All the gold deposits from underground are drawn to the PCs creating huge destructive geysers and destroying everything in their path on the way to them.
  75. All the gold deposits from underground are drawn to the PCs creating huge destructive geysers and destroying everything in their path on the way to them.
  76. They start magnetically attracting every coin they walk by forever.
  77. All the gold in the world disappears and the world is changed to a paper-money system. The gold you have is the only gold remaining in the world, but it is useless as a currency. Maybe some alchemist will buy it from you?
  78. The rest of the gold in the world disappears, all that's left is what three player has on them
  79. Assuming they mean currency they're giving all the gold in the world translated into copper and they need to find a way to haul the several million metric tons of copper they have now. assuming they mean or they are now surrounded by all currently existing veins of unrefined gold ore
  80. The player now owns all the gold in the world... And the accompanying tax bill.
  81. Elderly people appear
  82. You get all the Gold in the world, and everyone is hunting you for thievery
  83. Gold is molten, appears in your pocket
  84. total collapse of the gold economy because there’s a lot more gold beneath the crust than in it, and it’s all technically in the world

An analysis on Penguin Magic user reviews

Hello,
To practise some programming, I made an analysis of the user reviews left on penguin magic. I thought you could be interested in some of the results. It made me check a lot of products that I did not know about.
I excluded the reviews for expos and gift cards to analyse only physical items and tricks. I investigated only the items with at least one review. I combined items as Penguin did. This left me with 87761 reviews for 11318 items.

HUGE BETFURY 2.0 UPDATE - I-Gaming experience you deserve!

HUGE BETFURY 2.0 UPDATE - I-Gaming experience you deserve!

https://preview.redd.it/9zq2t439ga551.png?width=1280&format=png&auto=webp&s=625e042b5f8e0f910db4c44b61d7f7d036133edb
Today it is safe to say that BetFury 2.0 will change your understanding of the gaming industry! We are glad to present you an update that all BetFury supporters will admire and that all rivals will definitely pay attention to.For six months, our team has been working hard to create the best gaming experience in the TRON Dapp space. Despite all the advantages, the BetFury platform has already become quite well-known among TRON-users. We decided that it is time to change something and offer the whole crypto world an updated BetFury 2.0 platform.

BetFury 2.0 - Social i-Gaming Crypto platform

What makes the updated platform so unique?
BetFury has become the Social i-Gaming Crypto platform with the first BTC dividend pool in the gambling industry. The best gaming entertainment is provided with such advantages: BFG Staking, easy login system, Dividend pools in BTC, TRX, USDT, BTT, 1000+ games, Rank VIP system, Jackpots, Cashback up to 25%, friendly 24/7 support.
The main idea of BetFury 2.0 update is the combination of Dapp features: BetFury Staking (platform profit multicurrency drops for BFG holders in TRX, USDT, BTT) and web 3 API login (TronLink, TronWallet, etc).We open the doors for everyone with standard and user-friendly login by using email/pass or Social accounts login.Together with the high-end remastering of overall UI/UX on BetFury we are proud to show even better, meaningful, and more expressive results.
The next core feature - the Bitcoin Dividends pool is the one all users have been waiting for since Bitcoin was added as a gaming coin to the platform. Bitcoin dividends staking opportunity with a unique mining solution opens new opportunities and new users' acquisition as a result - the rapid movement of development, profitable mining, rising Dividends pool.

Global changes

BetFury moves from Tron to Bitcoin as a master cryptocurrency on the platform. That means that all the internal ratings, wager calculations, rankings, jackpots will be in Bitcoin now.
  • Important! All the reached users' ranks, global ratings of top users, and other data has been recalculated from TRX into BTC after the launching of BetFury 2.0.All data was transferred correctly without any loss.
Deposit/Withdrawal

https://preview.redd.it/w0a3bwxcga551.png?width=587&format=png&auto=webp&s=4277d8fa0b6f14912c2de2d7733b925e06098df8
Another important global change is related to Tron users who had to use TronLink, TronWallet or any other web 3 API wallet for entering BetFury. This way can still be used to sign in.We open the doors for the whole crypto world with user-friendly login by using 📧 email/pass. BetFury generates a unique address for every user to deposit funds to use all services (games, staking, etc).BetFury platform continues to provide an instant automatic Deposit/Withdrawal system.
Account
From the very beginning BetFury presents the place for tracking your account activity such as bets, transaction history, total wager, personalization tools. In BetFury 2.0 we have added security features related to email/pass such as change email, change pass, Two-factor authorization to provide the maximum confidence for users that playing on BetFury is secure. We did all the updates in the best manner of global leaders in crypto B2C products.
BFG token and BFG(BTC) and BFG(TRX) subtokens

https://preview.redd.it/167fkzckga551.png?width=692&format=png&auto=webp&s=8403b6542237f19fa9db501d516784731e0574d2
BFG is the unified token of BetFury platform with a max supply of 5 000 000 000.To expand potential market opportunities and improve the dividends payout we decided to fork BFG for BFG(BTC) and BFG(TRX) subtokens inside the site. Now depending on the cryptocurrency you use when placing bets, you will get BFG(BTC) and BFG(TRX) subtokens accordingly:Bet with Bitcoin - get BFG(BTC).Bet with TRON crypto (TRX, USDT, BTT) - get BFG(TRX).

Advantages of this solution

  • Coming of investors from the whole crypto world and the dividends pool growth
  • Heightened value of BFG token
  • Better earning opportunity for newcomers and old users
  • Increased interest to the project, which will simplify the BFG listing procedure
All tokens that have been mined before BetFury 2.0 update by users are saved as BFG(TRX).
Basic native BetFury game token (BFG) continues to be based on TRC-20 smart contract. It means that mining BFG(TRX)/BFG(BTC) subtokens are just a solution to start a new mining cycle on the BetFury platform.

Mining price on BetFury 2.0

BFG(TRX)In House games: start from 40 TRX/1BFGSlots games: 13.5 TRX/1BFGIncreasing: for every mined 100 000 000 BFG token the price increases for +1 TRX (for In-house games) and +0,5 TRX (for slots).
BFG(BTC)In House games: start from 0.00007000 BTC/1 BFGIncreasing: for every mined 100 000 000 BFG token the price increases for +0.0000001 BTCExample: 0.00007100 BTC → 0.00007200 BTC → 0.00007300 BTC → 0.00007400 BTC → 0.00007500 BTC
Slots:Start from 0.000023 BTC/1 BFGIncreasing: for every mined 100 000 000 BFG token the price increases for + 0.0000005 BTCExample: 0.000023 BTC → 0.0000235 BTC → 0.000024 BTC → 0.0000245 BTC

House-edge

We have changed the house edge for Dice from 1.5% to 1.99%The reason is that it should quickly replenish the dividend pool. Also because we have a lot of different features, contests, big cashback, VIP Rank system.
Increased house edge on Dice does not affect the increasing of the mining price. In fact, the cost of mining remains the same, due to equalization of the price of mining by the BF team.We are sure that this will have a better effect on the dividend pool and on the distribution of dividends to our users.

Minimal bets

Off-chain bets solutions allow us to reduce minimum bets in every in-house game. Starting from BetFury 2.0 release in-house games will have the next min bets:0.00000100 BTC0.00000100 TRX0.00000100 USDT0.00000100 BTTSlots, Table and Live games will have their own bets allowed by the games providers. BetFury team is always trying to make better conditions related to integrated games to make it possible to play for everyone. BetFury constantly pushes partners to add more crypto gaming solutions.
BetFury staking (Mining and Dividends)

https://preview.redd.it/s8qizx2jha551.png?width=1012&format=png&auto=webp&s=0b256ec929f6b40d0ab406b018574ae905a1b86a
The Dividends system is one of the main and most valuable features of BetFury. The system of multicurrency drops for all BFG token holders. From now users don't need to use Tron network to receive payouts for holding BFG. In order to invite new users for mining procedures and increase the value of BFG token, we provide a new 90%-10% staking payouts model with subtokens mining of BFG(TRX) and BFG(BTC).

Advantages of renewed BetFury staking system

Here on BetFury we maximized the opportunity of earning dividends for all newcomers and old users. And from now on we expand this opportunity for every crypto user outside the Tron market. BetFury also gives the opportunity to receive BTC dividends for users, who have been with us from the first day of the platform launch.BetFury Staking solution is ideal for both new users and for existing. New users who decided to join BetFury will join to Build new world class product. There is a unique opportunity to mine BFG(BTC) tokens with the best price and receive generous dividends.
  • Stakinga feature, that means that users claim a reward from the Dividend pool by only for holding their BFG tokens on their gaming accounts. The reward is defined according to the number of tokens kept.

How does it work?

Every 24 hours, the dividend pool releases 3% of the total profit of the platform on every currency, and the amount is shared among all users who hold BFG tokens. Get profit from all the platform’s funds, regardless of whether you are staking: BFG(TRX) or BFG(BTC)!

https://preview.redd.it/8h2xc6imha551.png?width=1042&format=png&auto=webp&s=bc8a95abeaef451384602a069877b82165fbc862
By placing bets in Bitcoin users get BFG(BTC) subtoken. Stake BFG(BTC) token to get dividends in the amount of:
  • 90% from BTC pool
  • 10% from each of TRX, USDT, BTT pools
By placing bets in Tron, Tether TRC-20, Bittorent (TRX, USDT, BTT) users get BFG(TRX) subtoken. Stake BFG(TRX) token to get dividends in the amount of:
  • 90% from TRX, USDT, BTT pools
  • 10% from BTC poolAll tokens that have been mined before BetFury 2.0 update by users are saved as BFG(TRX).

Jackpots

Some in-house games have the Jackpot option. Total Jackpots on BetFury are more than 6 000 000 TRX ~ 10 BTC ~ 100 000 USDT. From now on Jackpots pools will be in Bitcoin and when players get the Jackpot - payout will be also in Bitcoin.Check out Jackpot details on the site to know more!

It's showtime, fellas! Cause we are here with yet another promotion where you can win big!

WEEKLY BITCOIN JACKPOT RACE takes place (as you might expect from the name) over the course of a whole week between 22. 6. - 28. 6.
The jackpot builds over the week - the more you all play, the bigger the jackpot. And before you even start, we already put 60mBTC into the Jackpot to get things rolling.
The prizepool will be divided into 10 prizes according to the following leaderboard:
https://preview.redd.it/74q86rvp02651.jpg?width=901&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b31ae7d5f4a3758223a4e52dcae8f66a8e839552
To win the jackpot, play on the special multipliers (not all multipliers count towards the jackpot - see below). Whoever wins the most on those special multipliers over the week wins the massive jackpot. And will be everybody’s new best friend.
How does it work?
Well, 0,25% from the action of all of the players at LuckyBit between Monday 22. 6. and Sundays 28. 6. will go directly to the Jackpot.
How do you participate and win the Jackpot Race?
Easy! Join everyone else playing plinko and dice for a week. Whoever has the highest score at the end of the week wins the jackpot. Just betting gives you some points, winning bets give you even more points.
THE SCORE CALCULATION
You get points for playing, and points for hitting multipliers.
Points for playing - every bet you make on plinko = 1 point. Every bet you make on Dice = 0.1 point.
Points for winning bets - for every winning bet, number of points you get = mBTC you won on that bet x 1000.
Total score = points for playing + points for winning.

Special Multipliers

Remember, only special multipliers count towards the Jackpot. Here’s the list.

That’s it - get playing! Player with the highest score over the week gets the jackpot. And is everybody’s hero.

How does the fairness system work on BetFury?

How does the fairness system work on BetFury?

https://preview.redd.it/9tip15i096t41.png?width=1200&format=png&auto=webp&s=a0027f11d8da2c04e1cc21ef811d299030c888fb
The BetFury community is constantly growing and attracting more and more followers! Most of all we are excited that you are interested in the details of the platform’s work. It means that we have a common goal — to make the world of crypto gambling better! We know that players are especially interested in the convenience and openness of the platform.

How does fairness work on the BetFury platform?

Every bet on BetFury is absolutely random. How are you supposed to know that? It’s a fair question! Let’s look at one case of Dice, where the random number generator chooses the winning number from 0 to 99 and preferred by user range will define the reward.
  • Let’s say we think the winning number is less than 50;
  • Random Lucky result generated and mixed with random Server seed for every bet (in this round, the number 18 was encrypted in a hash). Hash sum of this mixing is shown for the user in the time of each turnover of the game. In this case, the hash you can see under the yellow Bet button.
https://preview.redd.it/pcsrdp7a86t41.png?width=1276&format=png&auto=webp&s=8d497acf93567ea8ede679cb4752d5bb8fd2c2fd
  • The provably fair principle is based on SHA256 technology the same as Bitcoin.
  • You can check the result by clicking the “Fairness” in the window of the game and find the result of each bet.
https://preview.redd.it/wvznzo5d86t41.png?width=1240&format=png&auto=webp&s=c70c3d0fde673b0be08001519b55d6f3c3dfae2e
By clicking on the “CHECK” button, you can double-check the encrypted number (server seed + lucky number). To do this copy Random Seed, go to http://www.convertstring.com/Hash/SHA256 or use any other SHA256 hash on-line calculator. The issued hash must match that fixed on the BetFury platform.
https://preview.redd.it/2a09lk6g86t41.png?width=1335&format=png&auto=webp&s=ba4aa3dd9b024359b0c4d391b6637e433f8197e6

Similarly, you can check the results of each of your bets in other games on the BetFury platform.
New fairness pop-ups in Hi-Lo, Mines, Keno and Stairs.
To check fairness in these games find the “My bets” section under the game’s field. Click on one of the bets and the pop-up should appear.
As the example let’s take Mines. Here you can see when was the bet done, bet id, amount of the bet, multiplier and payout.
Copy Random Seed. Press Check Fairness to continue. In the opened window paste the Random Seed. The issued hash below must match that fixed on the BetFury platform.
https://preview.redd.it/bhearvfn86t41.png?width=552&format=png&auto=webp&s=2e0b7ed6719d7138bde3145036808ff4ff3ff900

How to check all the game statistics?
You can check the details of winning and losing bets in the tab Account — Game history.
https://preview.redd.it/3rn5y74s86t41.png?width=1400&format=png&auto=webp&s=0fd48d1044740c8c5df3850090c410b003cd1340

Thanks for interest in the BetFury platform. We wish you successful bets, interesting games and excellent dividends!

What did you expect?

From this article:
If you hold your coins with Coinbase, you will no longer be able to send or receive crypto to or from just any old bitcoin address if it has been through a KYC process. Once you move your funds into a non-custodial account, you'll be free to send them to any self-custody address, but if you've never formally associated your identity with that address via a regulated entity, you won't be able to transact with a Coinbase address or one administered by any other regulated custody provider.
I've posted here a few times, warning of (obvious) developments like this.
You don't understand these people. They will stop at nothing but total control over who transacts with whom, how much and how often.
They reason that only by putting everyone under surveillance can they protect us from crime.
This is totalitarian thinking at its finest. With this reasoning, you must put everyone under surveillance to see who is talking to whom (could be a terrorist or a pedo), you must boobytrap the entire legacy banking system to see who is transacting with whom (they could be funding terrorists or - gasp - buying vegetation to smoke online), you must lobby against end-to-end encryption which "keeps you in the dark" (they feel entitled to know everything about everyone, so in that light this sentiment makes sense) and prevents you from finding terrorists and pedos - nevermind that in the process you get to know every intimate, banal, subversive, conversation that everyone has with everyone else.
Those of you less into computers don't get it. And your ignorance is costing the world greatly. They are not looking for anyone in particular most of the time (so the "I have nothing to hide" argument is just stupid), the important thing to understand is that without massive amounts of data siphoned off from as many people in as many situations as possible, their artificial intelligence won't work.
It needs your data to work.
Stop giving it your data. Unless we are to become digital cattle, this must be resisted with all our might.
If you don't care about this, you don't understand the grave danger in having the government and its friendly big corporations knowing everything about everyone. You should come to care about this, and you should come to understand this, before it's too late.
These new FATF recommendations are nothing unexpected if you understand how they think.
This regulation will give them the ability to know who everyone is transacting with, which allows the artificial intelligence to start doing its thing and labeling / cataloging social connections in yet another dimension.
It also sets the stage - just you wait for it - to pressure merchants, not just exchanges, to stop accepting orders from non-KYC'd addresses at a global scale, if they are feeling kind only above certain amounts.
In the mean time, the artificial intelligence will be busy linking all of your addresses with your purchases too, and someone will be making a fat profit off your data, a la Google/Facebook. And you'll be powerless to stop it, because while the beast was still a baby we failed to slay it.
I legitimately believe that this threat is unlike anything we've faced before in human history. We've had mass-surveillance before, but never at anything even remotely approaching this level. We've had tyrants before, but never at a global level. We've had repression, but never with the cold, precise calculations of computers making connections in a split second that would take human operators YEARS.
For the sake of all that's good, this massive abuse of human rights has to be stopped. Or we're fucked. Your children are fucked. Their children are fucked.
The technology will only get better. The regulations will only get tighter. These people understand very well what they're doing, they see you and your data as their property, and they would very much like to know where you are at all times, who you speak to, what about, what you enjoy reading, how you like spending your time, what your hobbies are, and most relevant to /cryptocurrency, where do you spend your money and who you transact with.
The surveillance state would simply crumble without its many tentacles sucking the information out of the digital realm.
Resistance has to start somewhere: I suggest Tor, getting rid of facebook, using another search engine besides google (and through Tor), using ad-blockers, encrypting your email, choosing Signal over WhatsApp.
And let's not forget getting rid of built-in spyware on your phone - choose LineageOS (arguably our best bet on Android) and f-droid - choose apps that respect your privacy.
Turn the damn phone off too, do you really need to be online and reachable 24/7? Trust me, it's pretty liberating not to. Time slows down without all the interruptions and impulses to check this or that online - and that's a good thing.
And in the domain of cryptocurrency, I suggest you look into Monero.
To quote from the article linked in the beginning:
Anyone stuck on these exchanges will not be allowed to send BTC to certain addresses deemed not in compliance. Let me be clear, this will not be enforced at the protocol level, but at the exchange and services level. Business owners will be forced to censor their users, hopefully driving a significant portion of their user bases away as they wise up and learn how to use the protocol as designed.
Look, I love this guy, he hosts a podcast which is usually very deep and entertaining and which I highly recommend - a great recent episode to listen to if you are not familiar with it is episode 76 with Alex Gladstein, for instance.
But like all bitcoin maximalists he fails to notice, because of purely ideological reasons, that it is the inherent obvious flaws in bitcoin that allow for this emerging nightmare to manifest.
Bitcoin has no built-in privacy. It was only a matter of time until the usual suspects would leverage this for max impact - this process is now well underway, and as I wrote before, expect the same logic to be applied to merchants; and don't you even think about mixing your coins with something like wasabi wallet, because they will automatically be assumed dirty.
The Monero community has been saying for years, and the wider brothers and sisters in the crypto community are still reluctant to comprehend: if a cryptocurrency has no privacy built-in, it cannot be fungible; if it is not fungible, it can and will be censored - and it will (has) be repurposed as a mass-surveillance tool.
Look, am I saying dump all your BTC and buy Monero yesterday? Not really. Bitcoin has by far the largest network effect, the largest developer community, and the largest brand recognition. We need Bitcoin to succeed if crypto is to succeed, at least for the foreseeable future.
And plenty of innovation comes out of Bitcoin.
What I am trying to call your attention to is the orwellian intentions of those who would propose to get as much data about as many aspects of our lives in order to "protect" us.
Listen, wake up. You're more likely to die from a bizarre accident with a lightning strike than a terrorist attack. The mass-media distorts everything, we react emotionally to things without considering the odds of it actually happening - repeating the same images over and over usually does the trick.
Certain things are being used as leverage (excuses) to strip away our civil liberties and build a global surveillance state. Your government and my government come up with this sort of regulation, behind my back and your back, without having been requested by the people of their countries to do so.
Is it for my own good? Is it for your own good? Cui bono ?
Who benefits from a global surveillance net that continuously builds profiles about everyone and discerns ever more precise patterns in behavior?
Could it be those who would very much like the status quo to remain the status quo? If you know exactly who to target in order to silence opposition..
Could it be those companies that get to make billions from predicting human behavior and selling stuff to people - precisely the right kind of stuff for that kind of person - at precisely the right time for precisely the right reasons? (Whether they actually need the stuff or not)
It's time to wake up to these very important issues folks. The governments that claim to represent us have cast the dice already, and our best interests are not on the table.
It is up to us to change the tide, demand privacy, and say that enough is enough.
What are they going to do? Put everyone in jail?
Wake up, before it's too late.

Lowest Recoil for 545, 556, and 7.62x39 guns : https://i.imgur.com/E9ruaAJ.png

[Ctrl + F to find stuff]

Edit:
There seems to be some misunderstandings about objective facts about tarkov. Anecdotal experiences you’ve had do not change how the mechanics behave. Not penning lets say, a 6B47 with M61, doesn’t mean m61 won’t pen a 6B47. We know the pen chance of M61 on any given piece of armor, and just because you received an unlikely result does not mean it’s the only result. Similarly rephrasing otherwise damning statements doesn’t change the objective situation. Saying something such as “___ gun shreds armor with ___ ammo” is just a different way of saying “If I take the time to shoot the armor to the point of it no longer behaving as its armor class, then my bullets will go through it”. And I’ll concede you can indeed do that. But shooting an armor several times before your bullets go through doesn’t mean its equivalent to using bullets that go through the armor in the first place.
There also seems to be a misunderstanding on what makes a gun good. Most guns will kill someone if you correctly aim and left click on someone’s face. That’s the bare minimum for a gun to be useable in tarkov. Just because you have used a gun which can do that doesn’t make it good. If one can simply shoot someone in the face with the first bullet, they fire then what’s the point of bringing something other than a Makarov. We bring in better guns to make up for other short comings. Yes, if you shoot someone’s gen 4 6 times with 7.62x39 BP you will go through it. But that guy in the gen 4 can only has to shoot you twice because he brought competitive ammo. Don’t handicap yourself then say I’m spreading misinformation because if you just pretend a handicap isn’t there then then game is different from what I’m saying… also ap slugs suck.

---------------------------------------------------------

Every Gun's Meta Role

Guns with a purpose:
AK-74 / AK-74N: Only has a place in 2 scenarios. Long range medium kit and any range high kit. In high kit the gun will cost 100k but will have the lowest recoil of the automatic ARs. BS and PP isn’t as expensive as 995 and M856A1. For high kit the 74 is 2nd best if money is no problem but if you do even remotely care about money then this is the most reasonable high kit gun. If lvl 6 armor for some reason becomes abundant in the future then this will be the best gun because igolnik. Yes m61 will go through lvl 6 but the FAL nerf means it has too much recoil for mid range and the m1a is semi auto which kinda nips the whole “2 stk > 3 stk” in the bud.
HK-416: 2nd lowest AR recoil. A maxed one of these is cheaper than a maxed m4 but has ~8 more vert reocil.
M4A1: Well my reference m4 did a mega-morphin stat change. The best recoil AR in the game. A maxed M4 is very very expensive and using it suppressed borks the recoil.
Bolt actions: All of the bolt actions are currently just very very bad vepr hunters. However quests are a thing and there’s very clearly one vastly superior bolt action and it issssss a sniper mosin with the non-blue tape obrez stock and the 514mm barrel. Its accurate and its very light. Recoil doesn’t matter, ergo kinda matters but not nearly as much as weight. If you don't like the PU scope then you can use the “arbalet patriot K+W mount” and just use any sight you want without the rendering issues of the tri-rail. Only in tarkov will the objectively cheapest gun in a class be the best. Cough ak-74 cough.
Vepr Hunter: M80 strong so gun strong. It one taps to the chest, is accurate, has no rof cap, can go through lvl 4, the 10 round mags are 1 slot, and you can get it for like 25-35k off the market. Its just stupid good. Is it better than a m1a, rsass or FAL? No. Is it way better than the mosin, saiga-12, mp-153, mr-133, m870, ash-12, sv-98, m-700, DVL, and SVD? Yeah.
MP-7: Best CQC gun for medium kit (anti-lvl 3) because FMJ is very cheap, the bitcoin trade lets you get 40k MP7s, and the recoil is lower than any gun of equivalent price. The only exceptions are the VSS and p-90 which you can use for about the same price (given you can get a 50k p-90 and a 40k VSS) However the VSS mags are either stupid expensive or too small and the p-90 has too much horizontal recoil. Yes the p-90 has less vertical recoil but only your mom is wider than she is tall and she’s not a scav boss yet.
PP-19: One of the three “competitive” budget guns. It's cheap, has maxed ak-74 levels of recoil(with a recoil pad), is automatic, and has no pen whatsoever. Face shots or go home.
Saiga-12: Best “shot” shotgun and one of three “competitive” budget guns. There’s a rof cap now but its vepr 136 levels so for a gun with a 20 round mag max, its not “too much” of a problem. If you’re running factory then maybe flechette could work but holy shit with the lack of limb pen and the 19 damage per dart (152 damage if all land) you’ll be shooting the fuck out of people before they die. I think the best example of how this feels was a raid where I killed one scav and it took 29 hits to kill that one unarmored scav. Honestly just use magnum and go for face shots. 1 pellet to the face can kill so it just a matter of spamming in the general upper torso direction and hoping RNG gives you a head/face shot. That sounds really stupid but throwing those dice is surprisingly dependable.
Vepr-136: One of the three “competitive” budget guns. If you need range and don’t mind giving up recoil and an automatic switch for armor pen then this is your jam. Grab one of these for 15k off the market, slap a butt-pad, m1b, and dynacomp on it, grab a handful of 30s with T45 for the cost of a slightly worn t-shirt, and you’re good to go. The only thing that really holds this gun back is the oversampling cap. I click at ~450 clicks per min and I slam right into that cap and get ~100-150 rpm out of it. Its really awful. That paired with the RoF link to FPS and you can imagine why taking this into cqc could be a bad idea.
AKMS / AKMSN: Only good for budget builds. Because the ammo is cheap you can spend more money on attachments. But the amount of money you would spend on attachments is so much, you might as well buy a better gun. I wouldn’t bother modding beyond a recoil pad, dynacomp, and M1B and pretending its a vepr-136 that can go full auto for CQC.
ADAR: Crazy good right now. 15k for a rec battery gets you a gun that reloads like lighting, who’s accurate, who’s ammo punches through lvl 4 for 191 rubles a pop with good recoil out of the box and has no rof cap (aside from the FPS limiting it of course).
FAL / M1A: Since the FAL was nerfed and the M80 wont go through full condition lvl 5, these don’t have a role in high kit. In medium kit however these are a nice alternative to the ak-74 or vepr hunter. They cost about 40-50k because of trades and they have access to large cheap mags. If you have a M1A then its fine as is, just put on a side mount. If you have an FAL put on a baskak and an extreme duty dust cover(if you did the NIXX trade then dont forget to rebuy the austrian muzzle break).
Makarov: One of two reasonably accurate pistols in game. If you’re going to carry a pistol as backup, carry this for face taps.
Saiga-9: Instead of doing pistol runs, do saiga-9 runs. No one will steal it, you can get it for the same price, you got 30s, and the recoil is only 47-195. For context a Makarov is 510-325 (and yes, that's five hundred and ten vertical recoil)
Kedr / Klin: probably my 2nd most used gun behind the 153 and…. Its pretty good for a 10-15k gun. Its cheap, it shoots cheap ammo, it has 1 slot 20 rounders, it has weird recoil / point of impact , and it sucks. If you wanna to pistol runs, do kedr runs instead.

-------------------------------------------------

Bad Guns (for the price / in comparison to other guns)

AKS-74U: Literally, the only reason to ever use this gun is because its funny or because you want a gun that’s very cheap, functionally accurate, automatic, and has cheap 30 round mags. If you consider using something other than FMJ in it then you would better spend your money buying an AKS-74 or AK-74M for 5k extra(or sometimes the same price). The only reasonable plays you can make are face shot barrel stuffs or tippy taps at range. Even automatic fire at like 15m has so much horizontal recoil that its basically useless. And if you spend the money to get the recoil down you might as well just buy a better gun and get low recoil that way. The only time the 74U can be remotely competitive is using it as a head tap DMR but even then you could use any other AK or adar for about the same price.
AKS-74 / AKS-74N / AK-74M/ AK-105 : These are basically just an AK-74 but slightly worse and occasionally cheaper. Just sell it or lightly mod it and use PP. If you dont have the money for PP then just use a PP-19.
AKM / AKMN: Its the best 7.62x39 gun in game and its just bad. It costs too much, the good ammo costs too much and doesn’t have enough pen for the price, and it has unacceptable recoil. There’s no reason to ever use this unless you can’t stand high recoil and must use a fully modded akm for that shoreline scav kill quest.
AK-103/AK-104: Imagine an AKM that’s worse and costs slightly less. Just dont.
AK-101 / AK-102: These are just meme / rp guns. They’re a better option than the AKM / AK-103 / AK-104 but that’s not saying much. They’re just expensive and have too much recoil. If you cannot stand the semi-auto of the adar these might be the only reasonable non-7.62x51 automatic for anti-lvl 4 because M855A1 is so dirt cheap.
SKS: A bad vepr-136 with the exception of having a higher RoF cap. Mags are stupid expensive, mags take forever to reload, and the recoil is stupid high. If you’re a sperg and can’t wrap your head around mags then do the filter trade, put a DTK-1 on an adapter, fill your pockets with T45 and you’re all ready to feed that sks to the next pmc you meet.
SVD: Its a bad M1A. Its too expensive, the mags cost too much, and it has a rof cap. No reason to use it other than the quest. Honestly, I’d take a vepr hunter over it because at least then I can spam in CQC.
MDR: So you can grab these for 40-50k on the market and after an RK-2 and Bulletec you’ll have the recoil of a maxed AKM with like 45 more horizontal recoil. So 80k for an extra shakey AKM in 556. So basically its useless, juse an ak-74.
TX-15: expensive adar with very slightly better recoil. If you care that much about recoil then just build an HK-416A5
MP-153: The only good slug shotgun and it sucks. People like it because you dont have to fiddle fuck with mags but the rof cap + the giga-longness + the slow reloads means CQC is is awful. Which means its only place in the meta is slugs and then its just a bad vepr hunter. But not like a “90% of the way there” bad, its a “30% of the way there” bad. I’ve probably used a 153 with slugs more than any other weapon in tarkov over these 7 or so wipes I’ve played and the whole time I’ve held the opinion that fucking christ the 153 with slugs sucks but lord is it fun. But with the CMS kits and the mosin and the vepr hunter. The allure of being a little shitling scuttling about has lost its charm. Breaking people’s arms and legs at range isn’t a raid ruiner, the mosin can do 1 shot chest taps now, and so can the vepr hunter. Its just not a vile bog of misery anymore. It’s just an underperforming gun that has been power creeped out of any relevance.
MP-133: bad mp-153. it literally don't even have iron sights
M870: mp-133 but expensive
Toz: is toz
Grach: imagine a saiga-9 but expensive and people can steal it easier
P226R: Imagine a grach but for people who wanna play dress up.
Glock 17: Imagine a P226R but for people who really really wanna play dress up.
Glock 18: Was pretty oppressive back when RIP could 3 shot your legs but now its just a DPS meme like it is in real life.
Shrimp: imagine a 5-7 but cheap and with no 1 tap chest hollow points. This is probably your best bet for the pistol kill quest.
5-7: imagine a shrimp but expensive and with hollow points that can 1 tap a chest. “But can’t all 9mm pistols do that?” ….yes but they’re half the price of RIP.
P-90: surprisingly similar in budget to the mp-7 but with less vertical recoil but more horizontal recoil and 50s instead of 30s…. So basically the p90 sucks.
MPX / MP5: mil-sim scum. In all seriousness they just cost so much for being such limp guns. I know people are SUPER FUCKING HYPED FOR AP 6.3 !?!??! but its just PMM with less damage. It wont ever got through a lvl 3 armor for christ sake.
TT: a makarov but it costs more and can go through lvl 2.
M9A3: sounds cool
APS: russian g18 that can’t use 9mm RIP. sucks
APB: Didn’t get nerfed with the APS so its a giga-cheap suppressed gun. But it handles like a shitty kedr and the kedr already handles like shit so keep that in mind.
RSASS: inflated price because of the quest, prob will never be viable until it gets a better mag or the M1A gets a recoil nerf.
VSS: imagine a AS VAL but you dont get that AR skill recoil reduction…. But its cheap. Its actually stupid cheap when you consider how much recoil it has and that SP-5 is basically 5.45 PP. You can get an AK-74 with a PBS-4 for 40k, and you can get an VSS for 40k, but you cannot get a suppressed AK-74 with VSS recoil for 40k, or 100k. The only thing holding the VSS back is the drop on it is stupid. I could go on a long hot ramble on how it could be fixed and how the way tarkov handles balistics calculations is dumb but that would take way too long. Basically only use it with sights that can zero to 25m and you’ll be fine unless you try to shoot at something beyond 50m.
AS-VAL: a slightly better VSS (because AR skill) but it costs 50-100% more
MP5K: bad kedr
Kedr-B: suppressed kedr that costs 25-30k
RPK: The recoil stats are basically the same as the AK-74 but maxed they both cost the same and the AK-74 gets recoil reduction from the AR skill so there’s just no reason to bother. The RPK is heavier, shoots at the same RPM, will have more ingame recoil, and sounds dumb.
Vepr-209: bad
Ash-12: unbelievably bad. Maybe if it was 20k from a trader and the ammo / mags were cheaper it might have a place in the meta. But that role would be a shitty vepr hunter that’s cheap.

PB: 25k silenced makarov…. Yeah naw
PM (t): fireball machine

------------------------------------------------------------

Modding:

I’m only going to cover the guns with a meta purpose that I didn’t mention how to mod in the above section.
M4A1 Max: (if I dont mention a part, its stock)
Pistol Grip: Ergo PSG-1 (only for ergo)
Stock: HK E1 (or BUS if you dont care about ergo)
Buffer Tube: Advanced (red has more accuracy)
Muzzle Break : Bulletek ST-6012 or AAC Blackout and SDN-6 (same recoil)
Backup sightst: Magpul MBUS Gen 2 (only for ergo)
Handguard: SAI QD Rail(long) + Jail Break
Foregrip: RK-2
Charging Handle: Raptor (only for ergo)
Barrel: 370mm
Upper: MUR
If you really care about min maxing you can put a cobra red dot on for an extra -1% recoil
HK 416A5 Max: (if I dont mention a part, its stock)
Pistol Grip: Ergo PSG-1 (only for ergo)
Stock: HK E1 (or BUS if you dont care about ergo)
Muzzle Break : Bulletek ST-6012 or AAC Blackout and SDN-6 (same recoil)
Backup sightst: Magpul MBUS Gen 2 (only for ergo)
Handguard: MRS 14" keymod
Foregrip: RK-2
Charging Handle: Raptor (only for ergo)
Barrel: 20”
If you really care about min maxing you can put a cobra red dot on for an extra -1% recoil
AK-74 Max (AKM is the same except for the lantac muzzle break)
Pistol Grip: US Palm (rk-3 weighs more)
Stock: Zhukov-S
Muzzle Break : CQB or PBS-4 to be suppressed (is 7% worse)
Dust Cover: Fab Defence PDC (highest ergo dust cover rail)
Handguard: CMRD
Foregrip: RK-2
Charging Handle: Extended (only for ergo)
https://i.imgur.com/siZK34s.png
The sweet spot is about the Zhukov-S + CQB + RK-0 + poly 100 has 58-153 recoil (which is about a maxed ak-105 but for 57k)
I used to determine the data points by an increasing budget but now I do it by the price / recoil gain of each next part. So buying a polymer stock costs more / recoil than the zhukov so I just skipped it. Also why I skipped to just using the RK-0.

-----------------------------------------------------------

Ammo Meta:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1jjWcIue0_PCsbLQAiL5VrIulPK8SzM5jjiCMx9zUuvE/htmlview?sle=true
Damage thresholds: 35 (1 tap to the head), 40 (2 tap the chest), 60 (break arms in 1 shot), and 80 (1 tap chest).
What we can derive from this is Magnum buckshot can kill with one pellet to the head. Igolnik won’t 2 tap. T45 will break arms in 1 shot so you can flinch people. M80, LPS, and 7N1 will 1 tap to the chest.
You should really derive your own conclusions about the ammo, this is just what I use.
anti-Lvl 3:
T45 for 7.62x39 for 70 rubles (PS isn’t a tracer but ps costs more and won't 1 shot arms)
PP for 5.45x39 for 152 rubles
M855A1 for 5.56 for 191 rubles(yes this is an anti-lvl 4 ammo, but m856a1 costs more than this)
SP-5 for 9x39 for 142 rubles
FMJ for 4.6 for 134 rubles
SS190 for 5.7 for 147 rubles
M80 for 7.62x39 for 237 rubles (also goes through lvl 4, there’s just no lower tier ammo)
LPS for 7.62x54R for 189 rubles (I just use 7n1 tbh)
Anti-lvl 4
M855A1 for 5.56 for 191 rubles
M80 for 7.62x51 for 237 rubles
7n1 for 7.62x54R for 322 rubles
Sp6, 7.62x39 BP, and AP SX cost too much to be considered for such an irrelevant threshold. Though its more relevant than previous patches due to the abundance of lvl 4. Though they’re usually pretty damaged.
Anti-lvl 5
5.45x39 BS for 554 rubles
The meta is just 5.45 BS or pay out the ass for sub-par return on investment.
5.56 995 for 800 rubles
9x39 BP is trade only, usually 1,000 rubles on the market
Not sure how much m61 costs yet, not worth it regardless and m62 is the same story.
